This by-law requires occupiers wishing to keep an animal to make an application for approval to the Committee. The by-law incorporates flexibility for schemes wishing to develop their own application criteria. The by-law stipulates conditions for the keeping of Approved Animals which comply with section 137B of the Strata Schemes Management Act 2015 (NSW) and regulation 36A of the Strata Schemes Management Regulation 2016 (NSW). It requires owners to take on legal responsibility for all consequences of an animal being on the property. The by-law also includes a clause relevant to built-in fish tanks, which may impact common property.
