I recently filed a complaint to Fair Trading against my Strata Manager for not honestly disclosing the insurance commission.
Fair Trading initiated the investigation, and requested the Strata Manager to provide a response to my concern and some documents to assist with the resolution.
The Strata Manager forwarded the email that he received from Fair Trading requesting him to respond to the case to the strata committees saying that hourly rate will apply in responding to Fair Trading.
Can the Strata Manager charge hourly rate without anybody’s approval to respond to Fair Trading in relation to a case that an owner raised against the strata manager, and not the Owners Corporation?
I think it is unethical for a strata manager to charge the hourly rate for defending himself that may have consequences to his license, and not the Owners Corporation.
