Description
This template by-law enables owners within 2-lot strata schemes to operate almost as if they were not part of an owners corporation. It shifts responsibility for items such as waterproofing, ceiling cavities, guttering, pipes, walls, floors, windows and ceilings from ‘common’ responsibility and makes them the responsibility of the relevant lot owner. This reduces the risk of disputes about repair and maintenance work and ensures that residents can live as harmoniously as possible, “together but separate”. The template includes suggested consent forms for each lot owner to sign, confirming their agreement to take on responsibility for areas that would otherwise be the responsibility of the owners corporation.
