- Episode 185. Isolation valves | leases vs by-laws | access to strata records
My strata manager wants to charge approx $200 per half hour to make records available, especially if I want a particular document and she has to search for it. Can she make this charge when I pay the prescribed fee and especially as the records are held electronically.
If the electronic records are made available to me is there a time limit for the inspection through access, or do I just pay the $16 per half hour if I go over the first hour allowable within the prescribed fee.
It seems that the strata manager has all the power and knowledge (bluff) here to make it really difficult for an owner to see ALL the records.
Is this typical behaviour from the strata manager who is keeping the records on behalf of the owners Corp.
I thought one of the main purposes of the recent Strata Law changes in NSW was to make things more transparent.
It seems that the more things change the more they stay the same.!!!!
