Lisa Macqueen of Cleancorp joins me to explain how her team is taking a fresh look at a traditional service, and shares why we need to stop de-prioritising the cleanliness of our strata buildings.
I was considering purchasing a unit in a perhaps 1-2 yo building with a value above the median; the RE agent confidently stated that the majority of residents were Owner occupiers. I left via the Fire escape stairs (one floor) and the air in it seemed to have cement in it i.e. It was likely never cleaned since completion and opening the door stirred up some of the dust probably covering almost every surface. Along with a few other aesthetic issues that could have been fixed in five minutes I probably considered that my valuation of the property went down by about $30K i.e. with the apparent likelihood that the scheme was poorly run with no attention to details and basic amenity (breathing freely for presumably the significant minority who would take the stairs).
