Very interesting discussion on the politics of new vs old owners. On the aesthetic upgrades to a building, whether this actually makes it look better is quite subjective. Trying to modernise an older 1960s-1980s building can end up stripping its character and ruining the facade if not done in harmony with its era e.g., painting everything grey/white, replacing original balustrades with frameless glass panels, rendering over brickwork etc. Not only that, these upgrades make it even more expensive to maintain for cleaning and repairs, further adding to the strata costs.
